World Champions, and Family, Shine in the Spanish Beach Sprint League

The opening round of the inaugural Spanish national beach sprint league on 21 March was dominated at the senior level by world champions, and in particular by Teresa Díaz and family. On a cloudy day on the Malagueta beach in her hometown of Málaga, Díaz won gold in both the women’s solo and the mixed double. And in the double, she rowed with her younger brother, Salvador. Teresa has to date had greater international success, but both have been training with the Spanish national team this year. And Salvador was third in the men’s solo in Málaga, beaten only by a pair of world champions: Miguel Salas and Adrián Miramón.
