USRowing Launches Beach Sprint Development Camp for All Abilities and Ages

The U.S. rowing federation will be running an open beach sprint training camp ahead of U.S. trials and senior nationals. The Beach Sprint Pathways Development Camp will be hosted at the Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, 2-5 August, and include competition in trials and nationals held immediately afterwards on 6-9 August.

The camp aims to be open to a wide range of ages and ability levels in beach sprint, although rowers must have prior sculling experience. Training will take place on the same beach used for nationals, and will include instruction on transitions, technique and tactics.

This is the first time the U.S. has run such a camp, and perhaps another sign of increased interest in beach sprint ahead of the LA28 Olympic debut.

Interested athletes must sign up via the USRowing membership portal. The cost of the camp is $2,399. More information can be found on the USRowing website.
