Beach sprint will be on the program for Sweden’s national championship week in Växjö, next year. The last time rowing was part of the multi-sport event was in 2025, although that was flat-water rowing. In 2019, coastal rowing was also part of the competition.
Back in 2009, various Swedish sports federations began teaming up to run their different national championships the same week in the same city, launching a miniature Swedish version of the Olympics. That first year, the winter week included five different disciplines and the summer week 11, but the idea has rapidly expanded. In 2027, the winter edition in Skövde will host 22 sports, and the summer edition in Växjö will host 29.
