In beach sprint’s debut at the Arab Women Sports Tournament in Sharjah, Tunisia won gold in the women’s double and silver in the women’s single. Egypt came narrowly behind its north African rival, winning the single and taking a bronze in the double. The other silver in the double went to Saudi Arabia, and the bronze in the single to Morocco.
Countries were represented by different sports clubs at the tournament. In the women’s double, rowing for the Nautical Sports Association Fishing School of Tabarka (Tunisia), Yoldos Othmani and Wala Omri took first place. Mariam Sami Kaki and Aljazi Ayad Alibrahim came second for the Saudi Rowing Training Centre (Saudi Arabia), followed by Mariam Abouelwafa and Salma Khaled Badour from the Maadi Sporting & Yacht Club (Egypt). In the women’s single, Badour and Othmani both picked up their second medals of the tournament, gold and silver, respectively, followed by Marwa Nakri with bronze for the Nautical Club Rabat Beach (Morocco).
