The Spanish rowing federation has announced details of the first erg test for athletes who wish to make the beach sprint national team in 2026. Interested rowers must row two 2.5-minute intervals on the erg, with a rest time of exactly 6 minutes between the two. The test must be completed between 30 January and 6 February. Rowers will be judged on the distance they complete in each interval, although they must also submit their weight, height and best results in beach sprint regattas from 2024 and 2025.
The Spanish national team usually runs several sets of erg tests per year, and is also organizing an open trials regatta in La Línea de la Concepción on 17 April. More information about how to complete this first erg test of 2026 can be found on the Spanish federation’s website.
