Beach Sprint World Champions Finalists for 2025 World Rowing Awards

As beach sprint rowing continues to gain momentum, World Rowing has named four current world champions and one of the discipline’s top coaches as finalists for its annual awards.

New Zealand’s Emma Twigg, who won gold in the women’s single at Tokyo 2020 as well as on the beach in 2022 (after the quarterfinals were canceled) and 2025, is in the running for Women’s Crew of the Year. USA’s Christopher Bak, who has won the men’s solo event at World Rowing’s Beach Sprint Finals three out of the last four years, is up for Men’s Crew of the Year. Great Britain’s Colin Wallace and Megan Hewison, who won this year’s inclusion mixed double sculls, are named to the list for Para Crew of the Year. And USA coach Marc Oria, whose team topped the medal standings in 2024 and came second in both 2023 and 2025, could win Coach of the Year.

The winners of the 2025 World Rowing Awards will be revealed on 24 January, 2026, during a ceremony at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
